Coleman & Greig scoops two Western Sydney industry awards in 2008
AustLaw member, Coleman & Greig enjoyed success again at the prestigious Western Sydney Industry Awards, held on Friday 23 May 2008.
The firm won the 2008 Award for both of the categories in which they were entered: Regional Excellence in the Outstanding Community Contribution category, and Excellence in Business Practice in the Customer Service Category.
According to Coleman & Greig’s Principal, Paul Lucas, the win was particularly important given the categories involved. “We go to great lengths to ensure the quality of our customer service, whether we are dealing with individuals or businesses” said Paul. “To be recognised regionally for excellence in customer service is extremely satisfying because it means that we are getting it right.
“A lot of law firms ‘say’ that they are client focussed. We have implemented management systems and practices to ensure that we focus on the client, and more importantly, we actually adhere to these systems! The majority of our clients are businesses in the region, from family-owned and operated companies to subsidiaries of multi-nationals, so we need to get it right if we want to stay ahead of the game.”
In terms of outstanding community contribution, Clas Einberg said the firm was particularly proud of their efforts in this field. “Western Sydney is a growing community and a very diverse community. We try to ensure that we make a worthwhile contribution to that community and to give something back. One of our major business community initiatives is the Women in Business Forum which is going from strength to strength and attracting high profile speakers and presenters like Gail Kelly, Wendy McCarthy and Kieren Perkins. Since establishing the Forum early last year it has become one of the most important professional development and networking groups for senior businesswomen across the region.
“Coleman & Greig also helps the general community through our involvement in groups like the Western Sydney Collaborative Family Lawyers network, and assists those in need through our support of charities like St Gabriel’s School for Hearing Impaired Children. I really believe that the legal industry has a lot to offer the community and can help on so many levels. ”
In the 2007 Western Sydney Industry Awards, Coleman & Greig received “Highly commended” in the Outstanding Community Contribution category and also won the Regional Excellence Award for Outstanding Service.
Designed to highlight the NSW government’s commitment to regional growth and prosperity, the Western Sydney Industry Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of western-Sydney companies in a variety of categories. The award process involves a panel of expert judges reviewing submissions from local businesses (SMEs and large businesses) in categories such as regional excellence, business practice, entrepreneurship and innovation.
