Jon is a principal in the commercial litigation section of the firm and practices primarily in corporate and personal insolvency, commercial litigation, commercial leasing and construction law. He is also the Chair of AustLaw.
He is focused on giving practical advice and guidance in dealing with complex disputes and litigation. For many years, Jon has represented major commercial clients in advising on international transactions. He also represents liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy in advising on insolvency issues.
Jon has represented clients in major litigation in most courts and tribunals in NSW. He is well placed to give practical advice and assistance in minimising the risks involved in litigation, whether for corporations or individuals.
As an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation, Jon’s expertise in the area has been recognised in his appointment in 2014 to the Law Society’s Advisory Committee for that specialty. Jon is a member of the Law Society’s Litigation Law and Practice Committee as well as being a Law Society representative on the Supreme Court Uniform Rules Committee. He is also sits on the Law Society Professional Conduct Committee.
Jon was a member of the Executive Council of NSW Young Lawyers between 1993-2000 and has been involved in a number of projects with that organisation, including joint authorship of the Children’s Court Guidebook.
He is a committee member and Vice President of the St George Sutherland Regional Law Society.
